"All the images are Royalty-free"
"Free" in this context means "free of royalties (paying each time you use an image)". It does not mean the image is free to use without purchasing a license or that the image is in the public domain .
- Pay a one-time fee to use the image multiple times for multiple purposes (limited to usage agreements).
- Magazines with a large print run cannot use a standard Royalty-free license and therefore must pay for an extended licence.
- There is no time limit on when the buyer can use an image.
- No one can have exclusive rights of a Royalty-free image (the photographer can sell the image as many times as he wants).
fotoTrip.co.uk has two licence agreements to which the price varies:
Standard Licence
Summary
- You can use the image in virtually any kind of promotional item : websites, advertising, packaging, personal projects, CD or DVD packaging, film and video presentations, multimedia presentations, commercials, books, etc.
- You cannot exceed the 50,000 print run restrictions.
- No ownership or copyright in any Image shall pass to you by the issue of the Licence.
- While using the Content for editorial purposes (i.e., for any non-promotional purpose) you must include the following credit somwhere within the publication: "© fotoTrip.co.uk / Photographer's Full Name"
- You cannot superficially modify the content, plunk it on a t-shirt, mug, poster, template or other item, and sell it to others for consumption, reproduction or re-sale. This requires an Extended License .
- You cannot use images in templates for resale (e.g. flash templates, website templates, brochure templates, PowerPoint templates); this requires an Extended License.

Sometimes, the standard Content License Agreement can prevent you from using fotoTrip.co.uk photography the way you might want. Now, fotoTrip.co.uk lets you dramatically expand the scope of usages available for the images you download.
